The most important areas to follow are your body composition, focusing on fat loss and muscle gain, and your biochemical risk factors such as cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugars. We also address other factors that might impede your weight loss goal such as thyroid, hormone imbalances and stress. Dr. Miles and a nutritional consultant work together to help you succeed.

1. Specific medical conditions that impede your ability to lose weight are ruled out. The thyroid, nutrient status, inflammation in your body as well as neurochemical imbalances which can cause overeating or cravings are all evaluated extensively.
2. You are taught not only what to eat but when to eat, portion sizes, and how to pair your foods together for optimal weight loss. You have to learn how to eat a healthy balanced diet in order to successfully lose weight and keep it off.
3. Analysis of your body composition is followed at every visit. This way you can see that you are losing fat not muscle which is common with fad and other extreme diets. Our heart is made of muscle so it is very important to lose weight correctly.
